Everything you need to know about Track Change Thrive

Getting Started

How does TCT replace my other health, diet, and tracking apps?

No one does what we do when it comes to helping you find the diet drivers of your symptoms - but we don't stop there. TCT gives you everything you need in one place: diet-symptom correlation analysis, comprehensive macro and micro nutrient tracking, symptom and health trends over time, ingredient flagging for allergens and sensitivities, a vetted 1.4 million food database, fast food logging with barcode scanning and favorites, and goal setting for your wellness journey. Why juggle multiple apps when TCT does it all?

How does Track Change Thrive actually work?

TCT works in two ways: First, our correlation engine analyzes your food and symptom logs to identify patterns - which foods, ingredients, or allergens are correlated to your symptoms. Second, we provide instant feedback on nutrients the NIH has associated with your specific symptoms, showing whether you may need to consume more or less of certain vitamins and minerals. The more you log, the smarter our analysis becomes.

What do I need to get started with TCT?

Select any "Get Started" button and create an account, then download the TCT app from the App store and activate your account. Start logging your meals and any symptoms you experience. That's it. There's no special prep required - no need to start an elimination diet or clean out your pantry. The app works with whatever you're eating right now. The sooner you start logging, the sooner you'll start seeing patterns.

Do I need to log everything I eat?

For best results, yes - log all your meals, snacks, and drinks. This gives our correlation engine the complete picture of what you're consuming. However, you don't need to be perfect. If you miss a meal or forget to log something, just continue tracking. The more consistent you are, the faster and more accurate your results will be.

What if I eat out a lot or eat foods without labels?

No problem. Use our text search to find restaurant items and common foods in our 1.4 million food database. For packaged foods without barcodes or items not in our database, use our label reader to scan nutrition labels. You can also create custom foods and save them to your favorites for quick logging next time.

How much time does tracking take each day?

Most users spend less than 10 minutes per day to log all of their food and symptoms. With features like barcode scanning, favorites, recents, and recipe saving, logging becomes faster the more you use the app.

Is there a learning curve?

The app is designed to be intuitive. Most users are comfortable within their first few logs. We provide tutorial videos and in-app guidance to help you get started. The onboarding process walks you through the basics, and you'll get better at efficient logging as you go.

The Science

How does TCT identify food triggers?

TCT uses proven statistical models to analyze the correlation between what you eat and when your symptoms occur. Our algorithm tracks timing patterns, ingredient combinations, and frequency to identify which specific foods, ingredients, or allergens are most strongly correlated with your symptoms. The system accounts for delayed reactions (symptoms appearing hours after eating) and considers multiple variables to provide accurate insights.

What makes TCT's nutrient analysis different?

We've curated comprehensive nutrient-symptom data from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to show you which nutrients are associated with your specific symptoms. When you log a symptom, TCT instantly shows whether too much or too little of certain vitamins, minerals, or other nutrients might be contributing - and displays your current intake levels so you can see if you need to adjust. We also provide education on why these nutrients matter and which foods can help you meet your needs.

Can TCT identify specific trigger ingredients, not just whole foods?

Yes. This is one of TCT's most powerful features. Instead of just flagging "pasta made me feel bad," our algorithm breaks down foods to the ingredient level to identify whether it's the wheat, gluten, specific preservatives, or other components causing your reaction. This helps you understand exactly what to avoid and what's safe to eat - so you don't eliminate foods unnecessarily.

How long after eating do symptoms need to appear for TCT to detect a correlation?

TCT can detect correlations even when symptoms appear hours after eating - which is common with food sensitivities. Our algorithm accounts for delayed reactions by analyzing patterns over time. Whether your symptoms appear immediately or hours later, the system tracks these timing relationships to identify triggers you'd likely miss with manual tracking.

Does TCT distinguish between food allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances?

TCT identifies correlations between what you eat and your symptoms - regardless of whether the underlying mechanism is an allergy, sensitivity, or intolerance. The app focuses on practical outcomes: if eating something consistently correlates with feeling bad, that's actionable information. We also provide nutrient analysis to identify if deficiencies or excesses might be contributing, which can help distinguish sensitivity patterns from nutrient imbalances.

How accurate is TCT's correlation analysis?

Accuracy improves with consistent tracking. The more data you provide (meals, symptoms, timing), the more reliable the correlations become.  Most users start seeing meaningful patterns within 3-4 weeks of consistent tracking - patterns that would be nearly impossible to spot manually.

Using the App

How hard is it to log my food?

Quick and easy. Scan barcodes, use text search, access your favorites and recents, or save custom recipes to make logging efficient. Our database has 1.4 million foods, and you can use our label reader for packaged items not yet in the system. Most people spend 30 seconds per meal. You don't need to weigh portions or count calories unless you want to - just log what you ate.

What if I forget to log a meal?

That's okay. Log it when you remember, even if it's hours later. The more consistent you are, the faster you'll get accurate correlations, but missing occasional meals won't ruin your analysis. The app tracks patterns over time, so a few gaps won't throw off your results significantly.

Do I have to track symptoms every day?

You only track symptoms when you experience them. If you feel fine, there's nothing to log except your meals. The algorithm looks for correlations between what you eat and when symptoms appear, so tracking both is important - but symptom-free days are actually valuable data too, helping the system understand when certain foods don't cause problems.

Can I set nutrition and health goals in TCT?

Yes. TCT includes comprehensive goal-setting features for macros (protein, carbs, fats), micros (vitamins and minerals), calories, hydration, and custom health metrics. You can set daily or weekly targets and track your progress over time. This makes TCT useful not just for finding triggers, but for maintaining long-term nutritional wellness.

How does ingredient flagging work?

You can flag ingredients or allergens you want to avoid (gluten, dairy, specific additives, etc.), and TCT will alert you when scanning or searching foods that contain those ingredients. This helps you make informed choices while shopping or eating out, and ensures you're avoiding triggers you've already identified.

Can I create custom recipes?

Yes. Build recipes by adding individual ingredients and portioning, and TCT calculates the complete nutritional breakdown. Save recipes to your favorites for one-tap logging. This is especially helpful for home-cooked meals, meal prep, or dishes you eat regularly.

Does TCT work offline?

You can log meals and symptoms offline, and the data will sync when you're back online. However, accessing the food database, nutrient analysis, and correlation reports requires an internet connection.

Results & Success

How long before I see results?

You'll see nutrient-symptom connections immediately after logging your first symptom and meal. We show which nutrients the NIH has associated with your symptoms and your current intake levels right away. Food trigger correlations require more data - most users start seeing meaningful patterns within 3-4 weeks of consistent tracking.

What if I don't find any food triggers?

If after 6-8 weeks of consistent tracking you haven't identified clear food correlations, your symptoms may not be primarily food-related. However, you'll still have valuable nutrient analysis showing whether deficiencies or excesses might be contributing. Many users discover it's not the food itself, but a nutrient imbalance. Either way, you'll have actionable insights - and TCT becomes your long-term wellness partner for tracking symptoms, identifying trends, maintaining a healthy diet through macro and micro monitoring, and achieving your health goals.

What types of symptoms can TCT help identify triggers for?

TCT works for any symptom you want to track: digestive issues (bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation), headaches and migraines, skin problems (eczema, rashes, acne), fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, mood changes, and more. If you experience it, you can track it and analyze potential food connections.

Can TCT help with diagnosed conditions like IBS, Crohn's, or celiac disease?

Many users with diagnosed conditions use TCT to identify their specific triggers within those conditions. For example, someone with IBS might know FODMAPs are an issue, but TCT can identify which specific high-FODMAP foods affect them. TCT is a tracking and analysis tool - it doesn't diagnose medical conditions, but it helps you understand what makes your condition better or worse.

What if I have multiple symptoms? Can TCT track them all?

Yes. Track as many symptoms as you need - TCT analyzes correlations for each symptom independently and can also identify patterns where multiple symptoms occur together. This comprehensive view helps you understand which foods affect which symptoms, and whether some triggers cause multiple issues at once.
